I
had just returned home from fighting in World War I and I had no idea where
I wanted to go and what I wanted to do. As time passed, I jumped around
from occupation to occupation trying to find out what career I would like to
pursue, but nothing stuck out. I know I can handle any job because I'm a hard worker and I don't give up. On top of finding a job, I had to make a
decision on where I wanted to live and I knew that I could not stay in
Minnesota. I knew I had to leave everything behind in the Midwest and turn my life totally
around. I then decided to be a stock broker, so I moved to New York City. The
stock market was booming and New York City was the center of this new, exciting business. My only problem
was that I did not want to live in the heart of New York City because it would be
too much of a change coming from plain, simple Minnesota. Would New York City be too busy, overwhelming, and too
distracting? I did some research and poked around the city and finally found a nice place in an area called West Egg. I decided on a small house at the tip of West Egg because it's a great location. This spot is my best bet because it fits my taste and likenesses and I can take the train that runs through the town into the city so I can work on Wall Street. I have the best of both worlds, I can still
live a suburban life style away from all of the madness going on downtown.
Nickie,
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you moved to West Egg to be closer to me. You're the best cousin I've ever had and you're going to be so successful with working on Wall Street. My dear Tom can always help you with business too. Tom is the one I married. You know him from the Yale Club. When you come to visit us in East Egg, you will be surrounded by all the rich and wealthy people. We have a grand time here in our mansion on the water. Tom has a bunch of his horses around town since he is a champion in Polo. Our house is filled with his prized possessions. I have a friend of mine that you should meet. Jordan Baker is her name. She is known as a pro female golfer. We have been childhood friends since Louisville and needs a man in her life. She sure is beautiful. When you come, I will introduce her.
Love Your Cousin,
Daisy
